Reclaim Your Goddess Power -- Go the Distance
Sunday, 12 December 2010 18:57

A 3-day Virtual Retreat ...

On December 12, 2010 (12/10/10), my grandson took his first steps!

We sat in the living room watching him explore ... up, down, under, over, through. He stood up, contemplating the journey, held back, and plopped. Then, he saw inspiration -- a granola bar. "Yummmmmm...," he cooed, forgetting his fear. We could read his eyes, his mind, and his intention. And we all knew... He was ready to go the distance. He was unstoppable ... ready to fly. And, as if someone suspended time and motion, we caught our collective breath and stared in amazement as he took his first steps--slowly at first and then with new courage and power -- almost running. He looked up, laughed out loud, and put his hands together in celebration and applause. We too laughed, cried, clapped, and celebrated. Someone said, "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away." This was one of those moments.

And my heart said, "Where are you holding back? What and where are you withholding? Where are you hiding out in your life? What will inspire you to stop hiding out, to celebrate first steps, and to go the distance of discovering and being fully who you are?

Miracles and the Healing Power of Love
Monday, 29 November 2010 14:56

At 4:22 p.m. on August 8, 2009, my grandson’s heart stopped beating.

Nurses, assistants, doctors, and others came out of the woodwork. My daughter was in shock; her boyfriend sobbed, not able to comprehend all that was happening. Exhausted to the point of hallucination and too numb to feel, I stared at the monitor, “Please come back. Please come back.” After what seemed to be hours, a small blip appeared…then stronger, stronger.

Without missing a beat, the team pulled plugs, running as they pulled, dragging other equipment behind them.

Delivery was the only thing that would save my daughter. My grandson’s spirit had decided it was time for his arrival.

Two minutes later, at 4:24 p.m., the baby had arrived.

Miracle Healing
Monday, 29 November 2010 14:55

When I was a child, “miracle healing” was a part of my everyday life. It was at once ordinary, yet extraordinary -- simple yet confusing.

Whether it was church on Wednesday evening, Sunday morning and Sunday night, revival every night, or summer Camp Meeting Days, “laying on of hands” or some form of “miracle healing” was a part of every service. People expected the love, the message, and the healing.

I watched in awe and wonder as the pastor lay the palms of his hands on the forehead of the sick person and prayed for a miracle and healing. Often, the whole room erupted with people speaking in tongues and “dancing under the power of the spirit”. I don’t remember specifics, but I remember hundreds of testimonials about miracles and healings from real people I knew, loved, and trusted.

I never questioned either the healing or the miracles, but the dancing and the Love confused me. At five, I wondered “How can dancing be a sin, yet dancing in the spirit is sacred and healing? How can a God who wants to send me straight to Hell for dancing or cutting my hair or having intuitive gifts or wearing pants know anything of love.” After all, God made me and us and our gifts, and what we wear is a product of our culture. It all seemed so conflicting; it made no sense – Love, Miracles, Fire and Brimstone, and Hell.
